Richmond Leadership

The Richmond Leadership Program is designed to further develop our already well-informed and motivated community leaders. Its purpose is to enable participants to fully understand community issues and trends that will affect the future of Richmond. Leadership Program participants will be exposed to different leadership styles and will determine ways in which they, as community leaders, can respond effectively to present and future community concerns.

By sponsoring the Leadership Program, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce demonstrates its continuing commitment to developing effective local leaders.

“I was born and raised in Richmond, currently live and work in Richmond, and yet, because of the Chamber Leadership Class, I still learned so much more about the area that I didn’t know!”
SHERYL GRANZELLA, Richmond Sanitary Services, Inc.

Business and professional people, current community leaders, directors or board members of non-profit organization, representatives from the public sector and interested residents are all invited to apply. People who are new to the community find the Richmond Leadership Program an extremely beneficial orientation. Even the people who have previous involvement in community issues gain new insights and develop new personal and professional relationships through their program experience.

“In addition to getting to know an exceptional group of bright, talented individuals, the Richmond Leadership program has greatly enhanced my knowledge of the Richmond area, especially into areas that my work or other community involvement would not have naturally led. I am still amazed at the people I met, places I’ve gone, and things I have learned that will have a lasting impact on my life and work! I recommend this program as being essential for emerging leaders…and useful for seasoned execs who are interested in supplementing their current knowledge and experiences in civic engagement.”
JOAN DAVIS, Richmond Community Foundation
