Committees

Ambassadors

The Ambassadors are known as “The Party People.” They are the welcoming arm of the Chamber. They enjoy many benefits and many responsibilities. They welcome new members with a phone call or visit, mentor them at mixers and events by introducing them to other Chamber members and make sure the new members know how to use their membership to the fullest. Ambassadors are seen at every Chamber event, always networking and having a great time! In addition, the Ambassadors plan and execute the annual Valentine’s Crab Feed, which is always a very popular event. Contact us to get started.

Workforce Readiness Committee

The Workforce Readiness Committee promotes hands-on engagement and partnering of local businesses with local schools through a variety of programs that support school operation, classroom instruction, and the overall goal of preparing students for successful lives. This committee is currently chaired by Cheryl Maier, Director of Opportunity West.

Government Relations Committee

The Government Relations Committee reviews and monitors local, county and state issues which affect business. They meet frequently with elected officials on business issues, send “member alerts,” facilitate grassroots lobbying and work with the City of Richmond providing business’ perspective on economic development issues. This committee is currently chaired by Joe Lorenz, Senior Government Affairs Representative of the Chevron Richmond Refinery.

Leadership Richmond

Participants in Leadership Richmond learn about the community and its inner workings. This annual program is open to Chamber members and their employees and meets one day a month for 9 months, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, including lunch at most sessions. Sessions start in January and finishes in November (no sessions in July and August). Contact us for current costs to enroll.
