August 2013 Richmond Today Community Newsletter

chevron-richmond-today-scienceDistributed by Chevron Richmond – August 2, 2013.

We are excited to share the August 2013 issue of Richmond Today, the official newsletter of Chevron Richmond.

In this month’s issue, we share some of the programs we sponsor in Richmond that put our community to work and prepare our students for careers in science. We also spotlight a Project Labor Agreement signed by local trade unions and Chevron in June, guaranteeing that construction jobs created by the Refinery Modernization Project are reserved for the Building Trades union workers with an emphasis on putting our local men and women to work. Once approved by the City of Richmond, the Refinery Modernization Project will benefit the community by reducing overall emissions and creating up to 1,000 union construction jobs.

The newsletter also features an infographic illustrating some of the steps we’ve taken at Chevron Richmond to protect the environment and reduce our environmental footprint. For example, by using recycled water, we preserve 2 billion gallons of drinking water each year – the equivalent of 21 billion, 12-ounce bottles of water!

You can access the newsletter in both English and Spanish by CLICKING HERE. Please feel free to forward to your friends, family, neighbors and colleagues.

Our newsletter is one of many ongoing communications tools being utilized to dialogue with the surrounding community, both online and in print. Richmond Today is distributed monthly to keep you informed about who we are and what we do. We are mailing it to each household in Richmond, and we are also distributing it online through our website and on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
