Escalante Center

Richmond Chamber Of Commerce Business and Training Development Resource Center

The Escalante Center was established to help small business owners and prospective business owners learn the computer skills necessary to operate a successful business. Instruction is offered in both English and Spanish and is both affordable and accessible. Its purpose is to close the digital divide and expand the horizons of small in-home businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs whose ideas can grow with the use of broadband technology.

Graduates of the Escalante Center who fulfill the necessary requirements may qualify to receive a free re-furbished computer from ReliaTech. Since it’s beginning in 2009, the Escalante Center has had over 200 students in attendance and has given away over 55 re-furbished computers to small businesses in the Richmond area.

“Within the short period of time I have learned so much about MS Office. Mr. Michael takes his time and gives all of his students one on one time to make sure that we are understanding and getting what we are being taught… He shows us that he really cares and is here to help us further our knowledge and skills.” - MyNesha Guerrero, Student

Classes are also offered to members of the Richmond Chamber. Send your employees for specific computer training and skills development. Check back for the current class schedule soon or call the Richmond Chamber office at 510-234-5312.
