Neighborhood Public Art Program Mini-Grants FY 2013-14 – Call for Entries

City-of-RichmondThe Richmond Arts & Culture Commission (RACC) cordially invites you to apply for a Neighborhood Public Art (NPA) Mini-Grant. You may apply as an individual or an organization. The purpose of this program is to stimulate arts and cultural activity at the neighborhood level, and to encourage visual or performing arts projects in the community. The results of this program celebrate our common history and enable people of all ages to discover self-expression through the arts.

NPA Mini-Grants allow participants to learn basic artistic skills, work with professional artists, and create public art or performance. Since 1997 the NPA program has engaged over 2,500 community members in arts projects all over Richmond. The RACC oversees the program, and awards grants both large and small from a $65,000 pool. There is no dollar amount limit on applications, but keep in mind that others are applying and final award amounts may be adjusted. The following art forms are eligible: visual arts (media, painting, graphics, ceramics, mosaic, or sculpture), performing arts (spoken word, music, dance, theater, and literary arts). Applicants may apply as individuals, or in collaboration with established or emerging arts organizations. If you are already doing a project and need additional funding, you are eligible to apply for a Mini-Grant.
