Re: Portola Middle School Renaming Proposal
West Contra Costa Unified School District has received a proposal to rename Portola Middle School after Fred T. Korematsu, the Japanese American civil rights icon who defied internment orders during World War II.
I am writing to make sure that you are informed about this proposal and to invite your participation in one of the four community meetings being hosted by the committee appointed by the Board of Education to consider the proposal.
