Dispose of your prescription drugs safely on Prescription Drug Take Back Day, Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Located at the Hilltop Mall Sub-Station, 2200 Hilltop Mall Road near the lower level JCPenney (see flyer for other locations). Prescription Drug Take Back Day is in opportunity to get rid of your unwanted or expired prescription medications safely. Pharmaceutical drugs can be just as dangerous as street drugs when taken without a prescription or a doctor’s supervision. The majority of teenagers abusing prescription drugs got them from family and friends, or a home medicine cabinet. These medications can show up in our drinking water and are a threat to our environment if flushed into our water ways. Please dispose of them properly.
If you are unable to make it, do not fret, there is now a permanent drop off box at the Richmond Police Department, 1701 Regatta Blvd., Richmond, CA 94804. You may drop off your unused and or expired medications year round, from 7 a.m.m – 8 p.m. at the PD. Please no liquid medications. Pass this information on to your employees and contacts. If you have any further questions, please contact Mandy Swirsding, Administrative Intern, Richmond Police Department, Crime Prevention at (510) 965-4923 or mswirsding@richmondpd.net.
